Who Should Consider 30 Days ofAddiction Treatment?

An inpatient setting is best for people with moderate symptoms of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. 30 days allows people to begin to get used to sobriety while being in a supportive, caring environment. Many people need more than 30 days, but a 30 day rehab program is a great start for those who are ready to get sober.

What to Expect from a 30-Day Rehab Program?

Seeking help for addiction takes great courage. Worrying about any potential stigma, how long treatment will last, or what you can expect on a typical day is not uncommon. There are many levels of substance abuse programs, but most of them follow a standard framework of different therapies.

With residential treatment programs, you can expect a structured, organized program with a similar structure every day. Almost all residential programs have an early start to the day, including breakfast and some form of physical activity. Throughout the day, you’ll participate in group therapy sessions followed by lunch and individual therapy sessions thereafter.

By creating this reliable schedule, our 30-day drug and alcohol rehab center works hard to minimize stress and surprises. You can expect free time often in the afternoons or evenings, utilizing on-site amenities or participating in group activities.

Mornings are when you might participate in yoga or meditation so that you start your day relaxed. The things you do in the mornings are intended to become a routine that you can easily integrate into your regular life once you leave our inpatient 30-day drug and alcohol rehab center.

After breakfast, you’ll participate in group therapy sessions like cognitive behavioral therapy or twelve-step programs. These sessions are designed to help you better understand the issues or events that may have contributed to addiction and replace these stresses or issues with coping strategies.

During these group sessions, you can learn the following:

  • Trigger management
  • Patterns you want to replace
  • Relapse prevention

Afternoons are typically dedicated to ongoing individual therapy after lunch. Afternoons are also a time for review and journaling, where you can reflect on what you have learned throughout the day and how you can apply those lessons to your long-term recovery.

In the evenings, you will have an opportunity for individual time which you can use in our state-of-the-art fitness center, on-site movie theater, or participating in ongoing activities both at our Kansas City 30-day drug and alcohol rehab center and off-site. Dinner will be prepared for you. Later, there will be a set time for lights out when you have to return to your room.

You can get help now. Call Arista to learn more about our different levels of care.

30-Day Rehab Treatment Goals

Your treatment goals will be personalized to your needs. However, they will include achieving sobriety, improving daily function, and preventing relapse.

The first goal is reducing your addiction and achieving sobriety. The primary goal of a 30-day program is to help you achieve and maintain your sobriety.

This typically starts with detox, after which you can try to maximize the effects of your treatment program with addiction education, individual and group therapy, and services that reduce risky behavior, help you build new lifestyle patterns, change your relationships, and remain committed to your abstinence.

The second goal is improving how you function on a daily basis through things like coping skills, trigger identification, and stress management.

Efforts to remain committed to abstinence require additional skills. Most people with addiction have other issues like mental health disorders, underdeveloped vocational skills, legal trouble, financial issues, disrupted relationships, or impaired performance. Maximizing the effectiveness of your treatment program means correcting these issues so that you can function successfully on a daily basis and live a healthy, purposeful life.

This will look different for every client:

You might need help with ongoing education or vocational skills so that you can build a new career or rebuild a career after completing your program.

You might instead need family therapy so that you can ameliorate unhealthy communication patterns within the family dynamics or rectify previous wrongdoings related to substance abuse.

The third goal is to help prevent relapse with things like relapse education and addiction education.

Your personalized treatment program will prepare you for triggers so that you can recognize cues of things that might otherwise cause you to go back to drugs or alcohol. You’ll be taught how to handle your cravings and to create a plan for successfully managing stress.

A big part of relapse prevention is knowing what to do if you have a slip-up and participating in ongoing care through 12-step or alumni programs. Many people benefit from participation in alumni programs from Arista because these provide an ongoing network of support, sober relationships, and access to sober activities.

We understand it can be difficult to determine whether a 30-day drug rehab suits you. That is why we conduct assessments and provide treatment recommendations.

Specialized treatment begins with a brief assessment. During this assessment, we clarify and confirm information about:

  • What substances you have used
  • How long you have used
  • How often you have dealt with relapse and recovery
  • Your mental health history
  • The number of substance abuse-related issues you’ve had in the last year, including legal, health, and social problems
  • Any medications you are on
  • Your physical health

We use this information to provide a recommendation. If, after the assessment, we determine that you have mild to moderate substance abuse issues, then we recommend a brief intervention. A brief intervention takes the form of a 30-day treatment program.

Note: If the brief intervention is inadequate, or for some reason, you are worried about the brevity of that program, we can make recommendations for a slightly lengthier treatment like 60-day plans or 90-day plans.

At Arista, we offer amenities such as:

  • Transportation services to and from your program
  • Admissions twenty-four hours per day
  • Off-site activities
  • A state-of-the-art fitness center
  • Alumni programs
  • Yoga
  • Hiking
  • A movie theater on site
  • Nutritionist prepared whole food meals
  • Spacious double occupancy rooms
