Addiction Treatment Options in Kansas City, MO

Inpatient Treatment

Arista Recovery’s inpatient rehab residential treatment facility is located in Paola, Kansas- less than an hour outside of Kansas City. Our inpatient rehab center provides both medical and emotional support around the clock for clients who need a more intensive addiction treatment and alcohol or drug rehabilitation plan. While participating in inpatient rehab, our medical professionals are able to care for and monitor clients during the intense detox process. We provide a multitude of services, treatment programs, and therapy sessions that are conducive to recovery.

Particularly, Arista’s innovative Synergetic Recovery Treatment Program applies a client-centered, strengths-based approach to addiction recovery as well as co-occurring mental health disorders. Working together with evidence-based therapies such as CBT and DBT, we use Synergetic Recovery to support rehabilitation and recovery. Arista’s inpatient facility provides specialized and individualized treatment programs including mental health services. We look at the patient’s medical and family history in its entirety to form a treatment plan tailored to each individual’s needs.

Outpatient Treatment

For those who may not be able to attend an inpatient rehab program, Arista Recovery also offers outpatient rehab treatment in Kansas. Outpatient drug rehab and alcohol treatment programs offer flexible substance abuse treatment services and support groups for those who have completed inpatient care and are looking for support through the recovery process. Outpatient rehab treatment is less intensive than inpatient and may be a good option for those with less severe substance use issues.

Arista’s outpatient treatment facility is located in Overland Park, Kansas, just outside of Kansas City. The facility is focused on different forms of therapy including CBT, DBT, group therapy, and trauma therapy. We offer Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, Outpatient Program, and Medication Assisted Treatment Options. Our outpatient clients attend therapy during the week. We also work with clients to develop a strong aftercare plan once treatment has ended in an effort to maintain sobriety.

Naltrexone Treatment

At Arista, we offer naltrexone (vivitrol) as part of our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. Naltrexone, the generic name for vivitrol, is a medication that can be used to treat substance use disorders such as opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD). There are two forms of naltrexone, both a pill form and an injection, that must be administered by medical professionals.

Unlike other forms of MAT, naltrexone is used after the detox period is already over and withdrawal symptoms have lessened. Naltrexone works by blocking the effects of opioids to decrease the risk of relapse by reducing cravings for the substance. With naltrexone, there is no opioid receptor activation, as there is with other MAT medications such as buprenorphine and methadone. This means that no euphoric qualities are produced which lowers the potential for misuse of the medication.

Naltrexone does pose its own possible risks, such as that the medication may give the patient a reduced tolerance for substances. If the patient were to relapse, they will feel effects at lower doses than they previously had which can result in overdose, even if the patient takes the same or less amount of the drug than they used to.

Because of this, naltrexone is best used in conjunction with other forms of addiction treatment, such as counseling and behavioral therapies, along with support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). At Arista Recovery, we offer Medication Assisted Treatment along with outpatient and residential treatment programs, mental health treatment, and counseling and behavioral therapies. Start your path to a brighter future at Arista Recovery.

Residential Treatment

Arista Recovery offers inpatient programs at our residential treatment center to help patients overcome severe substance use disorder. Our residential programs are typically either 30 day, 60 day, or 90 day programs. Inpatient treatment provides a more intense level of care than that of our outpatient treatment programs.

During residential treatment, our patients will undergo counseling and behavioral therapies, along with support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Arista Recovery offers a variety of therapies including art therapy, equine therapy, sand tray therapy, yoga, and more, allowing our patients to discover what form of treatment works best for them.

Besides these elective therapies, Arista Recovery also provides our patients with counseling sessions in the form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma therapy. These sessions with our licensed therapists are designed to help our patients understand the root cause of their addiction and develop healthier coping mechanisms to give them the necessary tools to stay on track with their recovery.

Medical Detox in Kansas City, MO

Drug and alcohol addiction can be treated with rehab. Drug and alcohol rehab begins with detoxification. Medical detox is the process of allowing your body to rid itself of drugs and other toxic substances. It is advised that detox be performed under medical supervision, as you may experience intense withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms vary depending on the substance used, length of use and addiction, and the body’s dependence on the substance. A detox center in Kansas City can help you with medical detoxification. At Arista, we have a drug and alcohol detox program to help you.

Types of Addiction Therapy

Addiction therapy is designed to treat not only addiction but also mental health disorders and behavioral health. In addiction treatment, mental health disorders are referred to as co-occurring disorders. If a patient receives a dual diagnosis, therapy will address and care for both the alcohol or drug addiction and co-occurring disorder.

There are several treatment approaches to addiction therapy. Patients in treatment may go through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT) to manage their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Group and individual counseling sessions are also effective forms of talk therapy to treat addiction and mental health disorders.

Paying for Rehab

Payment assistance plans are available to help pay for drug and alcohol rehab. Arista Recovery is a treatment provider that works with private health insurance plans and provides payment plans on a sliding fee scale, so you don’t have to worry about paying all at once. We take BCBS of Kansas, BCBS of Missouri, Aetna, and more.

We will check with your private insurance plan to see if your benefits will cover the entire cost of treatment. Many insurance plans do cover the full cost of addiction treatment programs.

Many addiction centers also accept government insurance plans, such as Medicaid or military insurance. Contact us today to see if your insurance covers the cost of rehab!
